All of us have broken the law (instructions/teachings) and the commandments of God. Have you ever stolen something? Then you have broken one of the ten commandments: “You shall not steal” (Exodus 20: 15). Have you ever lied? Then likewise, you have broken another of God’s ten commandments, namely, “You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor” (Exodus 20:16).
Romans 3:23: “ for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God”
God is holy and sin cannot enter His presence. With unforgiven sin in our lives we cannot enter into heaven. There is a cost for our sin, eternal separation from God.
Romans 6: 23- “ For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Whatever we do- no amount of human goodness, works or religious activity can obtain acceptance with God, or get anyone into heaven. None of us can be in right standing with God by our own efforts.
Romans 3:10: “There is none righteous, no, not one”
B- Believe in your heart that Jesus Christ is Lord.
Romans 5: 8: “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us”
God demonstrated His love for us through the death of His Son, Jesus who came to earth as a sacrifice for each us and took this punishment of our sins upon the cross/stake thousands of years ago. He died so that we may live and have a living relationship with God through Him.
He rose from the grave for He had no sin and is alive forevermore.
Romans 10:9-10 “that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation”
C- Call upon the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, confess your sins.
If you cry out and seek Him, He will be found by you. Confess your sins to Him. Then repent, turn away from your previous lifestyle choosing to follow Him and His ways.
Romans 10: 13 “ For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
Salvation comes by personal faith, trusting in Him and His death for our sins.
